a piece of your cake

"Are you ready to cut off your head and place your foot on it? If so, come; Love awaits you! Love is not grown in a garden, nor sold in the marketplace; whether you are a king or a servant, the price is your head, and nothing less. Yes, the cost of the elixir of love is your head! Do you hesitate? 0 miser, It is cheap at that price!"

I had a conversation with some friends about how one should love. I believe one has to share a piece of herself to the one that she is mostly endeared with to show love. Whether we like it or not, it really entails sharing what you have for the person. Sharing something a person doesn't have in the first place is just unthinkable. Or it would mean sharing nothing at all.

Some people think that loving should'nt have to be giving everything you got. You leave something for yourself. You don't share the whole cake...save a slice for you to enjoy. These people stand by the principle of not laying down all the cards. The whole idea of this is for you to have something to help you rise if ever the fall is inevitable. If everything is screwed up then you will have something left to shield you from the piercing ridicules and we-told-you-so. Or give you some sanity when you're unfortunately left on your own when no friends are around you while your picking up the pieces.

However, still there are some who thinks that love should be all-out. They don't see any reason for saving something for yourself when you are really so into the person. You should'nt limit yourselves in showing how much you love the person. Life is short so love all you can and show how you really feel. The happiness in showing the greatness of their love for the other person is already by itself satisfaction for these romantics. Lucky are the people who find love in the arms of these people. They will get the most of them.

We all have our ways. We show love the way we believe it to be.

I love with all my heart but I know I have to keep something for me. Besides, how can people love me if there's nothing in me that makes me desireable? I like them to want a piece of my cake...
