Pacman Sings "IMAGINE" for Margarito??

One good thing with us Filipinos is our knack for singing. Most, if not all, Filipinos know how to carry a tune.

Another good thing about us, Filipinos, is Manny 'Pacman" Pacquiao. I am one of the many people who have watched this lanky hair-dyed fighter exchange blows with almost everyone who wants a piece of him in the ring. Now this fighter is now one of the most exciting boxer there is. Even if that Mayweather kid brags to be the best, he will never be as exciting as The Pacman.

Now, Pacman will again climb into the ring for his countrymen and face another Mexican. Even with the controversy, The Tijuana Tornado should not to be taken lightly. Although there is a chance Antonio Margarito may find it difficult when he finally tests the scales the day before his Nov. 13 appointment with Manny Pacquiao at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, still, he can make it difficult for Manny.

Aside from boxing, this great Southpaw from the Philippines can also sing. Well, not as Charice Pempengco great or Lea Salonga spectacular though. Nonetheless, let's just give him that, as long as he can make Margarito kiss the canvass come fight night.

Welcome The Year 2010 With A Left Hook

As the hours slowly crawl to embrace the first day of another year, I bet people now are having different takes on how things will be in 2010. This uncertainty is somehow empowering to each of us who are clinging to that slice of hope that the coming year will be much better-- which really means favorable to each individual. Though we always, sometimes annoyingly, hear optimistic yearning for a prosperous year, we are actually crossing our finger at our back and are hoping against hope.

I believe this is one aspect of our human existence that I find remarkable. It is an undeniable fact that we as a race are resilient and stubborn in a praise-worthy manner. Our brute nature has taught us to be more fierce when badly hurt. Not to back down from any challenges and to stand our ground fight back. We get up after every tough fall and wrestle harder.

No scandals are going to stop us because of shame. No significant deaths are going to make us loose hope for a better tomorrow. Instead, we somehow feed on the deaths of influential people to fuel our rage against injustice and inhumane activities. Not even natural calamities can put out the fire in our hungry souls.

We always see it through the storm (literally, sometimes) not just as individuals but as race. We always survive-- even if barely in some occasions. We always prevail.

The Year 2010 is at our doors. Are we going to get it? Or is it time to throw that white towel in surrender?

YouTube Got The Best Talents

Tested through time, Youtube has been.

A lot of used-to-be-ordinary people got their now enjoyed or regreted (depends on whoever is concerned) "famous" status thanks to (or no thanks to) Youtube. Yeah, the said site has become a "talent scout" for a lot of folks. Videos found in this site are giving those in it a lift to reach their "stardom".

But though some videos have found their chance under the limelight, hundreds, if not thousands, of videos are still at the back of the stage. Anticipating. And sometimes praying for Lady Luck to smile at them. They await their shinning moment... or otherwise.

Yet, I just can't help but wonder if the people who are "stars" in those uploaded videos really wanted to be there and be the Next Big Thing? Of course, there are some who were praying videos of themselves be featured in Youtube hoping to be household names. Have you heard or seen videos about the funny pinoy duo doing some lipsynchs? Or how about the comedienne Rex Navarete's Inday and the Superfriends?

And who would miss those poor individuals in videos who have become victims of ridicule and public humiliation. Everyone have been talking about them, willingly sharing their takes to others on these poor victims, judging them according to how the videos went. Somehow,this reality is quite unfair and sad for these people throwing their judgements on those victims, most of the time, don't even have a clue about the people concerned. But then you also can't blame these people for their actions since the chance to pick on those in Youtube is right under their fingertips.

Take for example, the latest controversial video people have been feasting their eyes on (and leaving men scrambling like dogs to get a chance to download or score a pirated copy of it) is that of actress Katrina Halili and so-so-doctor Hayden Kho. Fine, seeing Katrina girate with those Belo-hips is a sight which explains the ever increasing viewers of the video. But the most controversial scandal on video was their "private moments" which is not as accessible because of it's new found "Classified" status. I heard all over the news that the National Bureau of Investigation is on their toes in catching those circulating the video since the day Ms. Halili filed a complaint and even cried in the Senate. So I won't be surprised if a copy of the said video would cost much due to it's "confidentiality".

To those who watched the talked-about video, which I believe first went public in 2007, might say the actress was really taken advantaged of by the shameless doctor. Some of my officemates even sympathized with Katrina but still others believed she was asking for it. Whatever is your take of it, one thing's for sure, this flame won't die down that easy. We will still hear about this for few more days or weeks just like when The Hitman learned boxing the hard way in the hands of the Pacman.

So, have you seen the video? If I have, i'm not telling. I still believe some things should be kept secret from the rest of the world...these poor souls in the photo should have.

I Woke Up When Pacquiao Put Hatton to Sleep

For the past few weeks a lot of significant events occurred. These have somewhat changed the world and it's history. History which others might find interesting and life-changing and yet the same events others might find it hard to accept.

As you've noticed, silence described this little web space I have for the past weeks. It would a appear that the world has left me behind among the changes. It seemed like I was hibernating and just got up from my deep slumber. I guess I was.

Though I was snoring while drowned into the proverbial sleep, I was not oblivious of what reality was busy with. Asleep but aware.

The interesting and the not-so events didn't escape me. They were all real to me as it were to everyone. From the sad passing away of The Master Rapper Francis Magallona, the revelation of Bebe Gandanghari, and the deadly and catastrophic swine virus to the devastating demolition of Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton by the pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, life never let me miss them.



Now that I'm awake, done some stretching, I'm now rejuvenated to examine every moments of my life. To see the picture not just with what meets the eye but also with the underlying meanings.

Oh yes, I'm glad to be back... (would it be Mayweather Jr. or Mosley?)

Pacquiao And Hatton Showdown Hazy

It’s all about the money. Or is it?

No, I’m not saying both parties are just concern about who get the better cut of the deal. It might appear to be so but I give them the benefit. Local, and even international, papers have got their eyes on this Dream Match(?). (Some boxing fans, and experts, are still doubtful whether Manny Paquiao’s win over the legendary Oscar “Golden Boy” dela Hoya was convincing or just “staged” to increase Manny’s “market value”.)

However, reports (courtesy of Philstar.com) disclosed that “Hatton’s group has been insisting on a 50-50 split on all revenues generated by the proposed fight in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 2 while Pacquiao’s camp wants 60-40 in his favor.” Now apparently, it didn’t get a nod from the world number one pound-for-pound boxer’s camp.

I am no expert in this sport but however you look at it, if you’re on Manny’s side, you might find the proposed split to be ridiculous. I mean, common, it’s the Pacman he plans to face (and even claimed to stop the Pacman’s reign in this sport).

Because of this development Pacquiao’s camp was so adamant that it threatened to abandon the Hatton bout in favor of a fight either against Venezuelan knockout artist Edwin Valero or the retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. Well, whoever Manny fights will surely be in for a tough fight. It has been prove that our “Pambansang Kamao” just won’t fold that easy. Well, as long as it’s not Jinky, the wife, he’ll be facing with. (not to mention Ara Mina or Christine Reyes, just kidding).

Now, who’s up for the challenge?
